Learning Aekyom

Today, on the third attempt over five months, I finally to got to go with Sewoknai (Rumginae in Aekyom) to see his settlement, called Menumsore (picture). This was the kick-off of a language-learning method that he is going to help me follow. He will teach me one small thing that I will learn well enough to go from person to person on the road, and from house to house to practice – with the goal of saying it forty times. I will repeat this process with new material each day about three times a week whenever I am in Rumginae.

I’m really looking forward to learning Aekyom in this way and building relationships at the same time.

Please pray for perseverance and good old-fashioned stick-to-it-iveness.
