Tuesday, Pastor Steven and Clyde sent out a water tank and other construction materials, via Mission Aviation Fellowship, to Debepari. These materials were needed for ECPNG’s Debepari District to get ready for our Old Testament workshop in October for the Pa (Pare) language.

God ya tyo kimina
We’re doing our best to secure all of the existing translation and literacy materials in Aekyom and Pa (Pare). A shout out to Cecily Brenton with Wycliffe Australia who has agreed to help find everything, type up whatever exists only in paper, and upgrade old digital files to current software standards. A huge job!
Storytelling partners
Dale & Carin LeRoy (left) of Pioneers came for a visit for the last time before returning to the USA, maybe for the last time. They are the ones who brought to the North Fly methods of „storytelling“ as a way to deliver the Bible. On the right is Godfrey Sim of Mission Aviation Fellowship, visiting for the Jubilee.
Church history
Standing in front of a large crowd listening to Yangtim Kati giving a great historical account of the development of the Church in the North Fly.
Jubilee in Rumginae
The Rumginae area celebrations are off to a joyful start as the worship team practices the night before the official kickoff – to the crowd of people already assembled from the more remote locations.
Temporary quarters
Kiunga Urban Church’s main building. Also the new hub for the North Fly Bible team. We have set up temporary quarters in the green extension on the right. Next month our plan is to help with ongoing interior construction and then move into the older office to the left in the original block building.
Partnership discussion
Conclusion of first partnership discussion in Ninggirum language area.
A new model
In 2014, with an emphasis on ECPNG’s Honinabi district, the team ran a trial Bible storytelling workshop series for pastors and other Bible teachers. The series consisted of an Old Testament workshop early in the year and then a New Testament one late in the year. It included the Kubo, Samo, and Gobasi language communities. Since then the team has been working very hard to help with follow-up there and to scale up our capacity to extend this approach to other North Fly language communities. Now we are full into the last stages of planning with ECPNG’s Debepari district, which includes the Pa (Pare) language community.

Some of the team
We come from different backgrounds and join together to achieve a common purpose. We are still active in our tribes and communities, our churches, other ministries, and other jobs – to name a few. Come join us!
